Like many organizations, our team is exploring the use of Microsoft Copilot and finding new things that it can do to improve our work and workflow at KnowledgeWave.

Microsoft Copilot is revolutionizing the way people work by seamlessly integrating advanced AI into everyday tasks. Copilot can automate routine processes, provide intelligent insights, and enhance decision-making, enabling employees to focus on more strategic and creative aspects of their job roles. The integration of Copilot into various Microsoft applications is not only boosting productivity but also fostering a more collaborative and efficient work environment.

It isn’t cheap, at $360 per user annually. To demystify the $30 a month price tag, Microsoft currently requires you to purchase the full 12-month subscription up front for each user...so much for spreading out the cost! Additionally, Microsoft now syncs licensing to renew on the same date, so you can get a prorated purchase the first time, but you will have a recurring annual bill for all your Copilot licensing upon renewal. So, a bit more of a commitment than just $30 a month.

Don’t worry, you probably don’t need a license for every user. Employees whose roles are primarily administrative and involve repetitive tasks or users who only occasionally use Microsoft applications for work may not benefit enough to justify the spend.

Who can benefit from Copilot? Those who are involved in data analysis, research, project managers, creative professionals and IT professionals are some user types that may best benefit from a Copilot license. Most companies we are working with start with a handful of test users. Most users who try Copilot are realizing the ROI is well worth the spend.

KnowledgeWave created a short Did You Know video that highlights some of the things that Copilot can do. Feel free to share the link with your colleagues. We also recommend revisiting the Copilot Lab regularly as they add tips and new prompt examples.
